Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mahidol University, Successfully Hosted Summer Horizons Laboratory Training in Veterinary Science

The Faculty of Veterinary Science, Mahidol University, held the Summer Horizons Laboratory Training in Veterinary Science 2024 from June 25 to 28, 2024. Associate Professor Dr. Walasinee Sakcamduang, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, welcomed participants.

The program equipped participants with hands-on laboratory skills in various veterinary science disciplines. It catered to international students from high school to postgraduate levels, veterinarians, new researchers or scientists, and educational personnel looking to enhance their practical knowledge.

This year, the faculty offered six in-demand courses: Entomology, Bacteriology, Protozoology, Mycology, Helminthology, and Molecular Diagnosis. Beyond the laboratory, participants explored various departments and units of the faculty at both the Salaya and Kanchanaburi campuses. They gained valuable insights by visiting the Research and Diagnostic Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases, the ABSL-3 Laboratory, the Demonstration Farm for Education and Research Unit, and the Pasu Palun Livestock and Wildlife Hospital. Additionally, the program included cultural immersion through visits to historical sites in Kanchanaburi province.

The Summer Horizons Laboratory Training concluded with a certificate ceremony, marking a successful program that provided valuable skills and fostered international collaboration in veterinary science.

ในวันที่ 25 – 28 มิถุนายน 2567 ที่ผ่านมา คณะสัตวแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ได้จัดกิจกรรม Summer Horizons Laboratory Training in Veterinary Science 2024 โดยมีรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สัตวแพทย์หญิงวลาสินี ศักดิ์คำดวง คณบดีคณะสัตวแพทยศาสตร์ เป็นประธานในกล่าวต้อนรับและเปิดการจัดกิจกรรม

สำหรับโครงการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมได้ฝึกฝนทักษะทางห้องปฏิบัติการทางวิทยาศาสตร์ กลุ่มเป้าหมายประกอบด้วยนักศึกษาต่างชาติตั้งแต่ระดับมัธยมศึกษาถึงระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา สัตวแพทย์ นักวิจัยหรือนักวิทยาศาสตร์จบใหม่ รวมทั้งบุคลากรทางการศึกษาที่ต้องการเพิ่มทักษะทางห้องปฏิบัติการทางวิทยาศาสตร์

ในปีนี้ทางคณะเปิดรับผู้สมัครเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมจำนวน 6 หลักสูตร ได้แก่ Entomology, Bacteriology, Protozoology, Mycology, Helminthology และ Molecular Diagnosis โดยได้รับการตอบรับเป็นอย่างดี นอกจากผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมจะได้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้ทักษะทางด้านห้องปฏิบัติการทางวิทยาศาสตร์แล้ว ยังได้มีโอกาสทัศนศึกษาและทำความรู้จักกับส่วนงานต่าง ๆ ของคณะสัตวแพทยศาสตร์ ทั้งที่วิทยาเขตศาลายา และวิทยาเขตกาญจนบุรี

นอกจากนี้ ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมยังได้เยี่ยมชมอาคารวิจัยและปฏิบัติการทดสอบโรคติดต่ออุบัติใหม่จากสัตว์สู่คน ห้องปฏิบัติการ ABSL-3 และโรงพยาบาลปศุสัตว์และสัตว์ป่า ปศุปาลัน ก่อนเยี่ยมชมสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวทางประวัติศาสตร์ในจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี เมื่อเสร็จสิ้นกิจกรรม ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมทั้งหมดได้รับใบประกาศนียบัตรการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมจากรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สัตวแพทย์หญิงวลาสินี ศักดิ์คำดวง คณบดีคณะสัตวแพทยศาสตร์
